Limited is a subsidiary of Brookside Africa Limited, a dairy processing company
in Kenya, the largest economy in the East African Community. Brookside Dairies
was established in 1993 by members of the Jomo Kenyatta Family, including his
son Uhuru Kenyatta, who was elected President of Kenya in 2013. In 2009, the
Gulf-area-based private equity firm Abraaj Capital paid US$18.7 million for 10
percent shareholding in the business. In 2014, French yoghurt maker Danone paid
an undisclosed sum to acquire a 40 percent stake in Brookside. Beginning in
2013, Brookside has expanded by buying stakes in rival milk processing plants
in Kenya, Ethiopia, Nigeria, and Uganda. In Uganda, they partly own a
subsidiary, Sameer Agriculture and Livestock Limited.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • The Quality Control Supervisor will ensure
    milk testing procedures are followed and ensure meets set quality
    standards
  • The incumbent is accountable for all quality
    milk received at the plant
  • Keenly monitor and ensure high hygiene
    standards are maintained
  • Ensure milk is cooled and stored in the right
    temperatures
  • Ensure availability of chemicals and
    detergents
  • Ensure adherence to quality management
    systems in raw milk processes
  • In charge of implementing and maintaining
    safety requirements
  • Assess the competence of Field Officers &
    Quality Assistant personnel
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicant for the Brookside Quality
    Control Supervisor career opportunities should hold Degrees in Food or
    Dairy Science and technology or related field
  • At least three years’ experience working in
    dairy or beverage sector
  • Broad knowledge and understanding of milk
    testing methods
  • Knowledge in systems and internal audits
  • Working knowledge in good manufacturing
    practices
  • Good supervisory skills
