Prevention (CDC)/PEPFAR to implement a comprehensive HIV/AIDS services in the
mid-western Uganda Districts of Kiboga, Kibaale, Kyankwanzi, Hoima, Masindi,
Buliisa and Kiryandongo. The project is called “Accelerating Comprehensive
HIV/AIDS Service Delivery through Health System Capacity Building and Technical
Assistance of District Health Teams and Health Facilities in Western and West
Nile Regions in the Republic of Uganda under PEPFAR.”

Job Summary: The HIV/AIDS/TB Care and Treatment Technical
Officer will provide technical assistance to ensure timely and quality
accelerated HIV/AIDS service delivery in supported Districts of the West Nile
Project.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- The incumbent will design, monitor and report
on key activities related to HIV/AIDS/TB treatment scale up. - Provide support in mentoring activities for
HCWs in relation to HIV/AIDS/TB care and treatment. - The jobholder will also support the roll out
of National HIV treatment guidelines and other related guidelines in
HIV/TB care. - Provide on call/distance TA support for the
handling of complicated cases. - Support Quality Assurance of HIV/AIDS/TB
services at facilities and recommend corrective action. - Provide technical support in planning related
to HIV/AIDS/TB care and treatment for the key thematic areas. - Perform any other duties as reasonably
assigned by the HIV/AIDS/TB Care and Treatment Advisor.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicants should preferably hold a bachelor’s
degree in Medicine and surgery. Possession of a master’s degree in
Internal Medicine or related field will be an added advantage. - Specialized training in HIV/AIDS is an added
advantage. - The applicant must have active Registration
with the Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners Council required. - A minimum of three years of HIV/AIDS/TB
clinical experience. - Previous exposure and experience in providing
technical Assistance to large scale HIV/AIDS HSS interventions within MoH
structures and systems. - Broad working knowledge and experience in
HIV/AIDS/TB management. - Good working knowledge of HIV/AIDS/TB
programs, strategies, processes and techniques used to plan, develop,
implement and evaluate results of HIV/AIDS programs. - Excellent communication and interpersonal
skills including the ability to work effectively in a team. - Working knowledge of USG programming policies
and regulations, MoH and district procedures and practices.
