Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) was established to implement the
provisions of The UCC Act 2013 Laws of Uganda with a principal goal of
developing a modern communications sub-sector and Infrastructure in Uganda, in
conformity with the operationalization of the Telecommunications Policy.
Officer Recruitment and Rewards Management will support the Human Resources
Section in recruitment, formulation and management of rewards and benefits
strategies.
- Plan, coordinate the recruitment process
including job description review, drafting job advertisements, applicant
screening and selection. - Build applicant sources by researching and
contacting employment agencies, recruiters, media, and internet sites;
providing organization information, opportunities, and benefits; making
presentations; maintaining rapport. - Carry out staff background checks and verify
references. - The jobholder will improve organization
attractiveness by recommending new policies and practices; monitoring job
offers and compensation practices; emphasizing benefits and make reports. - Carry out regular salary reviews and advise
on pay and other remuneration issues, including promotion and benefits; - Manage the Commission payroll in line with
the set financial standards, act as the Payroll Statutory & Regulatory
Subject Matter Expert (SME), liaise with the respective statutory bodies,
prepare and make statutory returns within relevant deadlines including but
are not limited to NSSF, PAYE and LST. - In charge of monitoring the accuracy,
eligibility and timeliness of payments in terms of Employment Contracts,
organizational policies and other relevant legislative requirements - Accurate and timely preparation and payment
of staff returns, payroll tax returns, and any other statutory or
regulatory requirements - Payroll reconciliation on a monthly basis to
General ledger and other key accounts; - Perform any other duties as assigned by the Manager
Human Resources.
- The applicant should preferably hold a
Master’s Degree Human Resources Management or a related field - The incumbent should hold a Bachelor’s Degree
(Human Resources Management, Social sciences, Business Administration,
Arts) or a related filed - At least four years’ experience in Human
Resource Management in a similar corporate setting Payroll experience will
be added advantage - Broad working knowledge of HR systems
