Job Summary: The Senior Network Administrator will mainly
conduct the design, installation, configuration, documentation and maintenance
of Umeme’s IT Network and WAN.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, document and maintain
network devices and equipment on the system to optimize Network systems
resources. - Offer technical support in the administration
of Network servers and the network infrastructure through clustering to
ensure optimal network and business systems performance. - Plans and carries out needs assessment for
all new network and computer infrastructure requirements for the business.
- Carries out troubleshooting analysis of
servers, workstations and associated systems to ensure optimal systems
uptime for business execution. - Document network challenges and solutions and
maintain a database / record for future IT staff reference to enable fast
turnaround of business systems restoration. - Conduct periodic systems performance analysis
and implement Network performance tuning in line with IT guidelines and
best practice. - Provide for Network redundancy and disaster
recovery planning of the IT network Infrastructure to ensure business
continuity. - Develop and implement network documentation,
schematics, policy and procedure to support business systems changes and
upgrades.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant should preferably hold a
Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer science or any other associated
discipline from a recognized university - Possession of professional qualifications
i.e. MCSE, CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, and CNE is a must. - At least five years’ experience in similar
role is a large and busy service organization. - Previous experience in deploying Network
access control and optimizations systems - Good team player
- Excellent communication skills
- Good organizational skills
- Proven ability to meet tough deadlines
