Job Summary: The Senior Manager-MFS Products & Services
will primarily ensure that the MTN Uganda products and services development for
the Mobile Financial Services go to market stream, creating competitive
advantage for the company in fast growing markets specifically creation of new
products and services in a segmented approach for Customers (Mass and emerging,
SMEs, Corporates), Merchants and Mobile Money Agents. To manage the Financial
Services products and services delivery process for existing and new products
to meet business growth objectives.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:  
  • In charge of defining MTN Uganda’s digital
    financials services overall product portfolio and strategy in alignment with the MTN Group strategy,
    mission and vision
  • The jobholder will oversee financial services
    products and services in line with group technology and MTN Uganda’s business
    strategy through exploitation of new opportunities
  • Define and implement strategic capability and
    capacity requirements needed for effective execution of the financial
    services product portfolio across the design, build and go to market processes
  • Drive financial services differentiation
    through segmentation of product portfolios in   conjunction with agreed marketing
    segments
  • Scan and assess market changes, competition, technological,
    political and economic changes to propose development of new products and services portfolio
  • The incumbent will also develop and maintain products
    and services strategy for short, medium and long term delivery   including product reviews and
    performance management
  • Holistically manage   relations with key external and internal
    innovation partners, including but  
    not limited to aggregator and integrator contract implementation
    and   performance
  • Work closely with IT, Marketing, Ecosystem development to
    identify, design and implement new platform strategies to enable new and existing products and
    services portfolio growth
  • In charge of the definition of products and services strategy in consultation
    with other internal stakeholders
  • Manage the design, build and implementation
    of products and services to deliver against strategic business plans
  • Manage product quality and delivery of stakeholder’s
    requirements in compliance to national and international standards in digital
    financial services
  • Forecast, plan and   develop business plans for delivery of
    new products and services, manage resulting budgets and development of supporting business cases
    providing a tracked return on investment
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:  
  • The ideal candidate for the MTN er
    opportunity should hold a tertiary qualification in Finance,  Administration, Engineering, Marketing
    or related qualification
  • Possession of an MBA or Master’s degree  is an added advantage.
  • Possess training in financial services training or mobile money-related
    training is preferred
  • At least five years’ track record as a
    Manager, three years in relevant sector/ industry
  • Worked across diverse cultures and   geographies is advantageous
  • At least five to ten years’  experience as a business development
    professional
  • Four years’ experience in a management role
    for a multinational company in telecommunications, mobile financial
    services
  • Previous experience in strategic partner/relationship
    management
  • Previous experience in customer data and
    field visit experience to manage the day-to-day growth of the business
  • Prior experience working with a variety of
    partners from startups to established companies
  • Working knowledge in writing comprehensive
    reports and effective communication with all levels of Senior Management
  • Broad working knowledge in development   of comprehensive and detailed business
    cases to drive the business and  
    motivate proper budget allocation
  • Very good knowledge   and presentation skills using MS Excel,
    MS PowerPoint and other relevant  
    software (for the purpose of analyzing data and producing reports
    to Senior   Management)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of payment ecosystem
  • Working knowledge in product   development, roll out and product
    performance management
  • Knowledge in research   development using different research
    methodologies
  • Appetite for innovation and continuous
    improvement
  • Demonstrated ability to think outside of the
    norm and present new ways of getting things done
  • Strong negotiation skills- Contract
    negotiation experience is paramount.
  • Ability to navigate through complicated
    situations
