About DGF:
Democratic
Governance Facility (DGF) was established by eight of Uganda’s International
Development Partners including Austria, Denmark, EU, Ireland, Netherlands,
Norway, Sweden and the UK to manage coherent, harmonized and coordinated
multi-donor support to state and non-state actors aimed at enhancing democratic
governance in Uganda. It is based upon three components: Deepening Democracy;
Rights, Justice and Peace; and Voice & Accountability.

Job Summary: The Program Manager Access to Justice – Legal Aid
will be tasked with reviewing project proposals, monitoring partner project
implementation and providing technical support and quality assurance to
implementing partners.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and update the Access to Justice
legal Aid theory of change and logical framework and align it with the
overall DGF logical framework and theory of change - The incumbent will provide a contextual
analysis of national and international key developments in the Access to
Justice-legal aid sector and recommend best practices to be adopted
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The Democratic Governance Facility (DGF) Program
Manager Access to Justice – Legal Aid should be a practicing lawyer with experience
in court processes with an advanced University degree in a relevant
subject particularly in the areas of law or human rights with training in
Project planning and management, financial management, monitoring and
evaluation - At least five years’ experience working
within the area of legal rights, access to justice preferably in the
governance field - Competencies of Result Based Management,
programme design and implementation, capacity development and
organisational development
