Public Service Commission was established under the provisions of Article
165(1) of the 1995 Constitution. The Public Service Commission has a mission “To
provide Government with employees of the right caliber, in right numbers,
placed in the right jobs at the right time.”
- Responsible for participating in advocacy
efforts aimed at all sectors of civil society in order to encourage demand
driven pressures on public service delivery; as a means of enhancing
performance in the Public Service; - Actively participate in liaison and networks
with the medial, public interest groups, trade unions, civil society
organization, NGOs and Local Governments as channels of public
expectations for Public Service delivery in the process of developing and
monitoring client service charters; - Participating in the development of required
advocacy material in print and electronic form in order to encourage
public advocacy; - Perform any other duties as may be assigned
from time to time.
- The ideal candidate should preferably hold be
a Ugandan who holds an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication or
Journalism or Public Relations with a Post Graduate Diploma in any related
field from a recognized University/Institution. - At least six years’ working experience, three
(3) of which should have been served at the level of Senior Communication
Officer in Government or equivalent level of experience from a reputable
organization. - Age: Above 28 years
