Job Summary: The Operations Manager will be responsible for
defining and implementing the design of relevant strategies and action plans to
improve field performance and impact. The
jobholder will also test and fully implement new initiatives, oversee
implementation of marketing plans and ongoing detailed analysis to inform
strategic decision making.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- In charge of formulating strategy and
operationalising plans to ensure Living Goods is continually driving
effective health services and providing product to maximize community
impact, support the growth plans in Uganda, and drive continuous process
improvements. - Develop, test and measure initiatives, such
as last mile distribution, product, that deliver impact across the LG
network. - Use data and analysis to drive continuous
improvement in processes and systems. - Supervise and coordinate field assessments
and quality control in an ongoing Randomized Control Trial - Mentor and manage a small team.
Key Performance Indicators:
- Ongoing health impact at Community Health
Promoter, branch and regional
levels - Successful business results – sales and
effective cost controls - Effective management of subordinate
performance, with ongoing data and action plans driving continuous
improvement for the organization.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant should preferably hold a good University
degree required. Possession of an MBA
preferred - At least eight years’ work experience driving
operations. - Significant experience in field management,
management consulting, or health delivery management in Africa or Asia. - Private sector experience in one of the
following fields: consumer package goods, private sector health delivery,
pharmaceuticals, retail or direct selling/franchising. - At least three to five years’ experience in
managing culturally diverse teams in Africa or Asia. Track record of
success in execution and delivery. - The ideal candidate is a results-focused
professional with vision and a track record of driving operational
excellence. - Excellent organization skills and ability to
see the “big picture”. - Exceptional financial analysis and problem
solving skills. - Working knowledge of economic and accounting
principles and forecasting. - Willingness to travel across Uganda 15-20% of
the time.
