Institute of Certified Public Accountants (ICPAU) is the national professional
accountancy body in Uganda, established by the Accountants Act. The Institute
also has a mandate to conduct professional accountancy examinations in Uganda.
The Institute runs the CPA Cooperative Savings and Credit Society Limited.
Job Summary: The Assistant Administrative Officer will support
the Administrative Officer in the preparation of books of account and assist in
administration of the SACCO. The incumbent will render support in the day-to-day
administration of all operations at the SACCO and account for all financial and
other resources in the delivery of its mandate. The Assistant Administrative
Officer will also assist in the administration of the SACCO’s secretariat in
line with the set policies and strategic plan.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Prepare and maintain books of account.
  • The jobholder will handle receipts, payments.
  • In charge of reconciling transactions.
  • Assist in the preparation and operationalisation
    of plans and budgets.
  • Prepare financial and other reports.
  • Assist in the day to day administration of
    the SACCO.
  • Provide administrative support to committees.
  • Render support in processing loan
    applications.
  • Implement the annual general meetings’
    decisions and recommendations made by the supervisory committee, external
    auditors and the registrar of cooperatives.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the
    committee.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicants for the Assistant Administrative
    Officer job placement should at least hold an Accounting Technicians
    Certificate/Diploma, a diploma in accountancy or cooperatives from a
    recognized professional body, university or institution.
  • Previous experience will be considered but it
    is not essential.Computer literacy skills i.e. preferably Microsoft Office
