About US:
The
Africa Innovations Institute (AfrII) is an indigenous, not-for-profit
non-governmental center of excellence, established in 2005 and based in Kampala
Uganda.  AfrII undertakes research and
innovations development on agriculture and food systems to ensure sustainable
increase in farmers’ income, food and nutrition security and environmental
sustainability in Eastern and Central Africa. Africa Innovations Institute
(Afrll) has received funding from the Federal University of Agriculture.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • The Monitoring, Learning & Evaluation
    Officer will develop or adapt MLE tools and frameworks for monitoring and
    evaluating CAVA II activities and ensure compliance.
  • Work closely with the CM, prepare annual,
    quarterly and monthly work plans, budgets and reports for CAVA II and
    related projects.
  • In charge of tracking, measuring and
    monitoring progress in Uganda towards meeting CAVA II and other project’s
    activities, outputs, outcomes and key milestones during and at the end of
    the project period.
  • Responsible for designing and assisting in
    the implementation and analysis of MLE and impact studies in Uganda to collect
    data on key indicators.
  • Identify, document and share successes,
    risks, threats, challenges, and opportunities in the course of project
    implementation.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate should preferably hold an
    MSc in Agricultural Economics or equivalent. In addition to academic
    qualifications, the person should have an in depth experience in
    monitoring and evaluation of donor projects.
  • A minimum of five years of proven experience
    in Development Projects in monitoring and evaluation,
  • Previous exposure and experience in the
    development and review of log frames, understanding of quality and impact
    agenda; participation in baseline and evaluation studies as well as
    competence in statistical analyses.
  • High level of verbal and written
    communication, negotiation, facilitation and training skills.
