Johns Hopkins University/Center for Communication Programs (CCP) is a pioneer
in the field of strategic, research based communication for behavior change and
health promotion that has helped transform the theory and practice of public
health.
is working with the Carter Center and water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH)
partners on the Trust Trachoma Project to revise content and illustrations on
existing VHT cards. The VHT cards will be reorganized into flip chart format
which will be used to facilitate community education activities promoting
Trachoma prevention and hand washing by WASH partners in Busoga and Karamoja
regions of Uganda. Illustrations will be adapted to the social context of the
target communities in Busoga and Karamoja.
flipchart will support the Johns Hopkins Center for Communication Programs
(CCP)Trachoma prevention flipchart from English to Lusoga. The translation of the flip chart is intended
to support community education agents to communicate easily with community
members in Busoga region on trachoma prevention behaviors and practices.
- Review and translate content of the flip
chart into Lusoga. - Submit translated content to CCP for review.
- Make revisions to the translations to
incorporate CCP comments. - Re-submit revised translated content (soft
copies) to CCP.
- A minimum of three years’ experience
translating community education or related materials from English to
Lusoga. - Ability to read and write Lusoga is a key
requirement. - Previous experience in development of health
communication materials for communities in Uganda an added advantage.
