Job Summary: The Livelihood Coordinator will mainly be responsible
for the coordination, implementation, monitoring and follow up of SCI’s
livelihoods activities in Kiryadongo district. The Livelihood Coordinator will
manage a team of local livelihood staff and Community facilitators. The
incumbent will also play a significant role in sectoral coordination with other
stakeholders including local and state authorities, food security cluster,
other INGOs and other partners involved in the project. The Livelihood
Coordinator will also take the overall responsibility for the quality and
implementation of Save the Children’s FSL work in Kiryadongo district. The
incumbent will be providing leadership to the identification, design and
implementation of FSL programming at district and community levels and ensure
the relevant operational and technical inputs are provided in a timely and
adapted manner so that the highest impact and relevance of work are achieved.

is in place for the project, and that the plan is maintained and regularly
updated.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the Save the Children
Livelihood Coordinator job placement should hold a degree or higher in
agriculture, social science, economics, business or public sector
management or similar discipline relevant to urban/rural livelihoods and
food security. - At least four years’ relevant experience of
humanitarian programme management specializing in livelihoods, including
contributing to sector strategies and fundraising (proposal preparation). - Working knowledge of the Enabling Rural
Innovation/PAED and household economy approach to food security and
livelihoods, or experience working with other forms of socio-economic and
market assessment and analysis - Significant exposure and experience in managing
complex operations in a humanitarian or development context. - Strong technical expertise in emergency
response work in the field of food security and livelihoods, including
both cash transfer programming and in-kind food distribution. - Broad knowledge and understanding of
monitoring, evaluation and accountability tools and processes; evidence of
successfully establishing and implementing these at sector level. - Past exposure and experience of working with
local partners and District Local Government in Child Rights Governance,
Health, Nutrition, Education, HIV/AIDS or Child Protection is an added
advantage. - Excellent analytical skills and strategic
planning abilities. - Ability to establish and maintain conducive
collegial relations and perform effectively as a member of a team. - Computer literacy and excellent documentation
skills are a must. - Willingness to travel and work in
hard-to-reach areas, occasionally under strenuous conditions. - Availability and willingness to work extra
hours during times of humanitarian responses. - Highly developed cultural awareness and
ability to work well in an international environment with people from
diverse backgrounds and cultures. - Ability to intervene with crisis management
or troubleshooting as necessary. - Exceptional interpersonal and communication
skills including influencing, negotiation and coaching. - Excellent time management and planning
capacity. - Availability and willingness to work extra
hours during times of humanitarian responses.
