CooP-Uganda
is a small social enterprise located in Jinja Uganda, whose vision is to
establish and execute various social enterprise bicycle projects whereby
entrepreneurs, students and health workers are empowered and equipped with
bicycles through a self-sustainable business model.
Job Summary: The Social Projects Coordinator will be in charge
of ensuring quality of delivery of projects/ programs for CooP-Uganda. The
jobholder will also ensure that all activities under such a project/program are
fully implemented as budgeted and that the desired objectives and impact is
achieved, and reported on.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
1. Programme design,
implementation, oversight and development:
Responsible
for programme design, resourcing, implementation, monitoring and reporting.
  • In charge of administering relationships with
    communities & providing them with direction where needed
  • The jobholder will also prepare fundraising
    proposals in conjunction with the Income Generation Manager
  • Conduct context analyses for idea generation
    for social projects and strategy development
  • Oversee the development of appropriate
    programs for Bike4Care &Bike4School&Bike4Work
  • Develops plans, budgets and reports as
    required by CooP-Uganda, donors and other partners
  • Execute/ roll out all social programmes based
    on annual and project plans
  • Keenly monitor and evaluate all social
    programme activities
  • Prepare and submit timely periodic reports to
    management, donors, authorities
  • Have monthly target meetings with the Manager
    and finance coordinator to discuss progress on monthly targets.
  • Builds and manages the relationship with
    local partners and government in the programmes
  • In charge of defining, together with relevant
    staff, frameworks, procedures and indicators oriented towards improved
    project management and quality.
2. Others/ General:
  • Works in liaison with the Finance and
    Administration Coordinator regarding best practices for financial
    administration of social projects
  • Perform any other responsibilities assigned
    to him/her by CooP-Uganda.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate for the Social Projects
    Coordinator job opportunity should preferably hold a Diploma in community
    development, project management or other relevant social sciences
  • At least two years’ experience in programme
    management and/or civil society projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work
    effectively with people and communities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
    skills, including public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Computer literacy i.e. experience in data
    processing (Microsoft Word), spreadsheet (Microsoft Excel), E-mail, and
    Internet browser software.
