Public Service Commission was established under the provisions of Article
165(1) of the 1995 Constitution. The Public Service Commission has a mission “To

- Actively participate in the formulation and
review of Water resource policies and standards. - Responsible for participating in the
administration of water abstraction permits. - Take part in the preparation and review of
national water resource management plans. - Offering technical advice, support
supervision and training to Local Government personnel and private sectors
engaged in management of water resources. - Participating in the management,
administration and networking of the division. - Assisting to ensure that utilization of and
activities on all water bodies are monitored with a view to ensuring
compliance with Water Laws and regulations. - Perform any other duties as may be assigned
from time to time
- The applicants for the Water Officer (Water
Resources Management/Monitoring Assessment) should be Ugandans holding an
Honours Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering or Physical
Science (Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics) or Geology from a recognized
University/Institution. Possession of a Post graduate Diploma in Forestry
or Land use planning or Natural Resources Management from a recognized
University/Institution will be an added advantage. - Age: Above 21 years

- Good communication and computer Skills
- Proven ability to adapt to multi-cultural
setting - High degree of innovation concern for
quality, standards technical - Proven ability to coach subordinates and
