to demonstrate the love of God by helping communities acquire desperately
needed clean water, and to experience “living water”- the gospel of
Jesus Christ – which alone satisfies the deepest thirst. Living Water
International Uganda (LWIU) was formed in 2009. LWIU is an affiliate of Living
Water International based in Houston, Texas, USA that was founded in 1990 and
currently works in over 20+ countries across Latin America, the Caribbean,
Sub-Saharan Africa, and India. LWI-Uganda runs an integrated WASH program in
South Western Uganda with its regional offices based in Mbarara and Field Offices
in Ruhaama, Nyabushozi & Ibanda.
Job Summary: The Church Facilitator will support Living Water
International efforts to serve and support local churches through effective
discipleship strategies for staff and partners that include training in a
reproducible method for mobilizing churches and proclaiming the gospel. This
position will build relationships & collaborate with church partners &
community structures to implement the CM&GP strategy.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Build and strengthen working relationships with
    potentially effective church partners on issues of integral mission with
    an emphasis on gospel proclamation
  • Carry out a simple survey on perception of
    communities on churches through different evaluation methodologies.
  • Develop vivid church models of every
    denomination, demographic and size that help to demonstrate a wide array
    of possibilities for churches engaging in integral mission.
  • Empower local churches with integral mission
    and oral skills for gospel proclamation.
  • The incumbent will investigate and address
    any beliefs, traditions & teachings in the Water Program Area (WPA)
    that contradict the teaching of Jesus Christ.
  • Train and mentor local pastors in oral story
    telling techniques and ensure they are able to share 5 basic stories with
    the communities in Ruhaama.
  • Work in liaison with the CMGP Manager,
    M&E Officer & WASH Manager, design M&E tools to help track
    efficiency, impact & relevancy of the CMGP strategy.
  • Plan and budget for CMGP activities in the
    WPA according to the country operational plan & multiyear strategic
    plan 2016-2021
  • Collaborate with Living Water partners to
    learn and share experiences on Integral Mission and how effectively work
    with local churches
  • Represent LWI Uganda in national Christian
    organization forums, prayer gathering, symposium and workshops including
    internationally when requested.
  • Participate in regional technical group &
    review meetings as scheduled.
  • Prepare and provide leadership during
    devotion time by encouraging daily staff participation and opportunity to
    lead devotions at least bi-weekly.
  • Prepare accurate and concise monthly, quarterly
    and annual reports as scheduled
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicants should preferably hold a Degree
    from recognised institution and relevant qualification from a bible
    college
  • A minimum of three years’ experience working
    with churches or organizations to develop mission’s strategies
  • Previous experience in design and delivery of
    trainings on Christian related topics, programs & integral mission
  • Ability to work with multi denominational
    local churches & pastoral leadership skills
  • Ability to write high quality reports
  • Hold a valid riding license with experience
    of riding on rural murrum road
  • Ability to work with multi denominational
    local churches, pastoral leadership skills is essential
  • Computer literacy skills i.e. Proficiency in
    Microsoft office packages (MS Word/Excel, internet, power point e.t.c.)
  • Excellent communication skills in English
    (written/Spoken)
  • Ability to speak the local language
    (Runyankole)
  • Ability to ride motor cycle on rural murrum
    road with a valid driver’s license
