Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- In charge of ensuring an up-to-date list of
all gazetted landing sites handling fish for exports, their locations per
district on lakes Victoria, Kyoga, Albert Nile, Edward and George; - Responsible for identifying new upcoming
potential landing sites for upgrading; - Ensuring that all gazette landing sites are
manned by local fish inspectors who have been specially trained and
designated for that purpose; - Ensuring timely/ monthly submission of returns
from local fish inspectors; - Responsible for ensuring that the data from
returns from landing sites are captured and entered in our document
control system and analyzed; - Preparing and submitting quarterly status
reports of the landing sites and suggest improvements in service delivery
by the Competent Authority; - Performing any incidental work relating to
landing sites assigned by the SFI - Performing any other duties that may be
assigned from time to time by the supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicants should be a Ugandan in
possession of an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Fisheries or Zoology or
Aquatic Biology or Food Science and Technology from a recognized
University/Institution. - Age: Above 21 years
