Job Summary: The Team Leader Production Assurance will be responsible
for ensuring minimum risk and disruption to business, maximizing system/service
stability and continuity through proper Change governance, risk and impact
analysis of Changes, release management and Business Continuity management.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Manage change through a structured and
    controlled process to ensure effective impact assessment and scheduling
    for the introduction of change with due consideration of both business and
    technical criteria in order to significantly reduce risks and minimize the
    impact of change.
  • Actively facilitate the implementation of
    changes to the production environment in a controlled manner that will
    minimize risk and stability of the environment
  • Ensure that change governance is followed
    through and risk is mitigated,
  • Ensure approved changes are successfully
    tested and test results documented and maintained.
  • Monitor and coordinate change implementation
    (Planning, scheduling and reporting).
  • Provide input to weekly IT CAB and conduct
    Post implementation review.
  • Escalate via the IT escalation matrix in
    cases of issues, faults and failures during testing and implementation.
  • Accountable for smooth day to day execution
    of the Change Management process.
  • Keenly monitors the effectiveness and
    efficiency of the Change Management Process and proposes any required
    improvements.
  • Keenly monitors the successful completion of
    all RFC’s to ensure that the processes used follow the Change Schedule.
  • Ensures that standards and procedures are
    followed.
  • Creates a consolidated forward schedule of
    changes and resolves any scheduling conflicts.
  • Ensures that changes are communicated in a
    timely and adequate manner.
  • Reports process status and progress to peers
    and executives.
  • Regularly reviews and where necessary engages
    teams to conduct RFC impact analysis and risk assessments.
  • Ensures that appropriate actions have been
    planned to minimize both the risk of failure and the impact on users
    during change implementations.
  • Develop and enforce release management
    framework for coordination, control and physical introduction of a change
    into the development and production environments.
  • Develop and enforce configuration management
    process that provides collateral for all processes, e.g. providing
    component relationship information for impact assessment and incident /
    problem resolution and maintaining release baselines for both development
    and back-out purposes.
  • Manage and Enforce Change Control Policies
    for deployments to Production.
  • Single point of contact between Business,
    Group Technology Operations (GTO) and Country IT for managing and testing
    the recoverability of services against business expectations.
  • Coordinates GTO resources involved in the
    testing of Business Function recoverability in accordance with the
    requirements of the service delivered
  • Develops overall timeline for Country testing
    ensuring all Business units’ plans are accommodated and any conflicts are
    raised and resolved.
  • Responsible for identification, communication
    and resolution of gaps that exist between recoverability requirements and
    recovery capabilities.
  • Ensures any test failures are documented,
    reported and remediated.
  • Responsible for creation and implementation
    of the DR plan
  • Drive execution of the DR testing to ensure
    readiness (ensuring that the issues experienced during or as a result of
    the DR are resolved)
  • Responsible for IT service continuity
  • Responsible for the end to end consolidation
    of the DR documentation
  • Responsible for identification of critical
    systems per business line and group,
  • Responsible for managing IT disaster recovery
    process in the event of a disaster,
  • Ensure that all IT systems at DR are restored
    and tested regularly as per BCM plan
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate for the Stanbic Bank Team
    Leader Production Assurance career opportunity should hold a University
    graduate with a degree / diploma in Business, IT or a related subject
  • Working knowledge of  process management
  • Working knowledge of ITIL processes including
    change, incident and problem management.
  • Working knowledge of standard business
    processes including work prioritization, best practices.
  • Technically competent with broad knowledge of
    systems management, development and implementation methods with specialist
    knowledge of Project Management.
  • Broad understanding and knowledge of the
    bank’s Core systems
