Job Summary: The Retail Maintenance Engineer will oversee and manage
Retail (Petrol Stations) equipment and site maintenance activities (including
minor Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) activities e.g. Pump replacements) to ensure
an efficient (speed) & effective (quality control) maintenance service to
Vivo Energy Uganda (VEU) & its Retailers, and within budget.
Deliver
maintenance services that achieve the desired customer satisfaction result.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Manage the Equipment Maintenance contracts
    and deliver equipment and site maintenance performance on time, within
    budget and to the required quality standards, and with minimum interruptions
    to station operations.
  • The incumbent will deliver equipment
    maintenance service that realizes the desired customer satisfaction score.
  • Develop and maintain a strong Heath Safety
    Security Environment (HSSE) culture within the Contractors used, and ensure
    that the Company HSSE standards are implemented and upheld.
  • Coach, support and develop the Customer
    Service Centre (CSC) Maintenance Assistant in line with company individual
    performance requirements.
  • Prepare and manage the annual maintenance
    budget and plans, and build up and manage the scheduling of planned site
    maintenance works (e.g. painting, minor repairs etc)
  • Carry out maintenance procurement in line
    with company contracting procedures.
  • Management of local contractors, works
    quality control, and performance appraisal against agreed Key Performance
    Indicators (KPI).  Ensure contracts
    with maintenance service providers are managed in line with company
    contract management procedures.
  • Complete and submit Maintenance performance
    reports to agreed KPI templates
  • Complete the timely capitalization of
    completed installations and manage asset database and movements as per
    asset management procedures.
  • Offer technical support to the Construction
    Engineer as required, including in the implementation of Capital
    Expenditure and pump replacement projects from design/tender to
    completion.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate for the Shell vacancy
    should preferably hold a degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering.
  • At least three years’ experience in
    maintenance.
  • Broad working knowledge of components of
    Petrol Stations & HSSE specifications & standards will be an added
    advantage.
  • Strong team member with good communications
    skills.
