Job Summary: The Senior Programme Officer (Business Skills) will
work in liaison with the private sector and partners on business skills and
employment components of the programme.
The
incumbent will develop strategies to link youth to markets and will coordinate
youth groups either directly or through partners throughout all stages of the
programme. The jobholder  will also
prepare and submit monthly and other progress reports whilst working with local
partners, community groups and local government.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate for the Senior Programme
    Officer (Business Skills) job opportunity should hold a University degree
    in community development and/ or business skills or other relevant
    discipline.
  • At least five years’ experience in community
    development work in a challenging environment, preferably with an
    International NGO.
  • Previous exposure and experience in
    implementing business skills in development programmes, linking producers
    to markets and linking skilled people to employment opportunities is
    essential.
  • At minimum, a basic understanding of
    NgaKarimojong and a strong understanding of issues affecting youth,
    particularly in the Karamoja context is required.
  • The candidate must be proficient in both
    spoken and written English.
  • Possession of a valid motorbike permit (Class
    A) is desirable.
