Reports to: Chief Finance and Administration Manager
About US:
The
Uganda National Oil Company Limited (UNOC) was established by Article 42 of the
Petroleum (Exploration, Development and Production) Act 2013 and incorporated
under the Company’s Act 2012. It is a fully registered limited liability
company wholly owned by Government of Uganda. The overall function of UNOC is;
To handle the State’s Commercial interests in the Oil and Gas industry and
ensure that the resource is exploited in a sustainable manner.
Job Summary: The Human Resource Manager will take the overall
responsibility of the implementation of UNOC’s Human Resources Manual and
Policies.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • In charge of the development of the Company’s
    Human Resources Manual, Guidelines and Policies
  • Responsible for the planning, organizing,
    coordinating and reviewing personnel programmes of the company including
    the smooth running of the personnel function.
  • In charge coordination of staff development
    and training matters;
  • Responsible for the management of personnel
    information and records.
  • Take part in the reviewing the structure and
    staffing.
  • Actively participate in identification of
    skills development and training programmes to improve performance.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate for the UNOC Human
    Resource Manager should hold a  Master’s Degree in Organizational
    Management, Human Resource Management/ Administration.
  • The applicant must also hold a Bachelors
    (Hons) in any management related course from a recognized university
  • A minimum of eight years’ practical
    experience in human resource management in a reputable organisation.
  • Broad working knowledge of Strategic Human
    Resources Planning and Management is an added advantage.
  • Possess excellent negotiation, communication
    and interpersonal skills, to work within a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural
    environment.
  • Working knowledge of the Oil and Gas industry
    is an added advantage.
