Uganda Limited (IAU) is a non-governmental humanitarian national organization
established in 1988, and duly registered with the NGO Board and NGO Forum. IAU
is actively involved in programs geared towards the protection and improvement
of lives of disadvantaged people living in urban and rural areas in Uganda and
in the Great Lakes Region. InterAid Uganda is focused on its thematic areas of
Rights Protection, Education, Livelihood & Food Security, Health
(HIV&AIDS; Malaria; Maternal and Reproductive Health), Water, Sanitation
& Hygiene (WASH), Environment and Disaster Management and good Management
and Governance systems.
managing, controlling and optimizing IAU financial resources in line with finance
policies and procedures.
- The incumbent will develop systems and tools
to ensure compliance with organisation directives, policies, guidelines,
processes, regulations and legislative and statutory requirements. - Provide financial support services to the
project through performance of professional accounting. - Manage Office imprest and petty cash
transactions. - Support the Accountant in running of day to
day accounting activities in the section. - Build, strengthen and manage relationships
with Banks, suppliers etc. - Prepare and provide audit information to
facilitate performance of statutory audits on a timely basis. - Keenly review payment requisitions against
supporting documents (supplier invoices, purchase order, goods received
notes etc.). - Ensure correctness of approvals and
computations. - Preparation of payment vouchers and coding
expenditure as appropriate before payments. - Ensure that advances and imp rest are fully
accounted for with supporting documents. - Maintenance of the staff advance ledger.
- Prepare and submit periodic financial reports
as per the departmental guidelines. - Ensure all financial assets are tagged and
capitalised. - Ensure that the asset register is up to date.
- Carry out monthly review of the register and
report on assets ready for disposal. - Provide technical advice and support to staff
in line with finance policies and procedures to ensure adherence. - Ensure that policies and procedures are in
compliance with relevant legislation. - Ensure statutory deductions are remitted on
time to relevant authorities.
- The ideal candidate should preferably hold a Bachelor’s
degree in Commerce, Accounting, or any business related program with a
bias in accounting from a recognized institution. - Professional qualification with ACCA, CPAU or
any equivalent is an added advantage. - A minimum of two years’ relevant work
experience.
