USAID-funded Reproductive Health Voucher Program (RHVP) in Uganda aims to
achieve measurable improvements in safe motherhood services by supporting
health financing and innovative service delivery models in the private sector.
Reproductive Health Voucher Program Plus (RHVP+) in managing the financial
operations of the project.
- The jobholder manages the accounts payable,
accounting program balance sheets, financial reporting. - Keenly tracks budgets and prepares financial
projections for use in project strategic planning. - Prepares payment vouchers and corresponding
checks. - Manages payroll and other regular payments,
including all associated deductions, contributions, and submissions. - Ensures that the books of accounts are
accurate, current, and audit-ready at all times. - Prepares the monthly financial submissions
(ROVs) for submission to the Abt Associates home office. - Maintain accurate and reconciled bank and
petty cash accounts at all times. - Works closely with the Financial
Management/Administration Specialist to produce annual budgets, cash flow
projections, and budget tracking reports. - Ensures that accurate and timely financial
information is produced and available for the Management Team. - In charge of providing financial advice and
support to sub-grantees, suppliers, and colleagues. - Perform any other duties as assigned by the Financial
Management/Administration Specialist.
- The candidate for the USAID Finance Assistant
vacancy should have completed secondary School or preferably hold a Bachelor’s
Degree in Business, Accounting, Management, or other relevant field
(preferred). - A minimum of three years’ experience in the
financial management of donor-funded development programs (USAID
preferred). - Broad knowledge and understanding of US
Government cost accounting and procurement procedures. - Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Excellent writing, computer, management and
organizational skills. - Ability to independently plan and execute
complex tasks while addressing daily management details and remaining
organized and focused on long-term deadlines and strategy.
