Job Summary: The Field Operations Manager will primarily be
tasked with delivering effective operations performance in accordance with the
Area Business Strategy and agreed Customer SLAs. The incumbent will also be
responsible for managing, controlling and leading all the Field Operations
activities in the country, i.e. Sea, Air and VAS Operations to ensure a
seamless delivery of the products to the customer. In return, you will gain
valuable experience in long-term strategy planning and execution, negotiation,
and play a pivotal role in setting the future direction of Damco EAF.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Lead and manage the field Operations team to
    focus on the key Performance Deliverables,
  • In charge of managing Customs Clearance &
    deliveries on the ground with coordination with the CSO.
    • Deliver on lead times
    • Receive and dispatch of
      Documentation
    • TraklT system Updates
    • Proactive communication with
      customer service in case of exceptions
    • Vendor relations including TPA
    • Receive vendor invoices and coordinate
      changes to Job costing with the CSO, if any
    • Spot procurement for Air and Ocean
    • Sending original invoices to customers
  • Provide customer service support in customer
    query resolution and exception handling
  • Build and strengthen working relationships
    with Carriers , obtain rates and maintain tariffs
  • Work in liaison with Cl on continuously
    improving processes, procedures to heighten productivity, timeliness and
    quality
  • Ensure compliance to internal and external
    audit controls
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the VAS
    Manager –Ug
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate should preferably have a
    minimum of eight years’ experience in managing large Operations / Customer
    service teams with five years’  experience in the Logistics
  • sector
  • Previous experience in Operations and wide
    exposure across all the
  • logistics products & processes- Sea, Air,
    VAS including Trucking, CHB, Warehousing and Cargo-
  • Insurance
  • The applicant should possess an Operational
    Efficiency & Process adherence mind-set
  • Lean / Sigma, Process knowledge
  • Show a passion for service delivery, responsiveness
    and for identifying constant improvements
  • Good understanding of MODS/ Kewill/Fact – but
    not a super user necessarily
  • Broad knowledge and understanding of Damco Policies
    and Processes
  • Drive for Results:
