Uganda Limited (IAU) is a non-governmental humanitarian national organization
established in 1988, and duly registered with the NGO Board and NGO Forum. IAU
is actively involved in programs geared towards the protection and improvement
of lives of disadvantaged people living in urban and rural areas in Uganda and
in the Great Lakes Region. InterAid Uganda is focused on its thematic areas of
Rights Protection, Education, Livelihood & Food Security, Health
(HIV&AIDS; Malaria; Maternal and Reproductive Health), Water, Sanitation
& Hygiene (WASH), Environment and Disaster Management and good Management
and Governance systems.

- The incumbent will be responsible for
planning, coordinating and implementing all the planned activities of the
sector. - In charge of the establishment of woodlots in
the settlement on provided land - Responsible for maintaining the existing
woodlot and ensure that it meets the right standars - The incumbent will also be maintaining the
nursery bed, raise seeds and ensure quality seeds are raised. - Supervise all activities aiming at
environment protection - Mentor and train extension workers in
environmental issues and responsibilities - Work closely with partners –UNCHR and OPM in
implementation of all planned activities - Providing technical support and guidance to
management in line with environment sector - Document the best practices implemented,
success stories and case studies for dissemination and learning. - Prepare timely activity, weekly, monthly,
quarterly and annual reports - Directly participate in writing fundable
proposals in line with the section.
- The applicant for the Environmental Officer should
preferably hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Management,
Physical and Natural Science, Environment Engineering or Science in
Forestry from a recognized University. - At least three years of related work
experience particularly implementing environment related activities. - Ability to work in the field.
- Ability to ride with a valid riding licence.
