Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- The IT Technician will be in charge of planning,
deployment and attribution of ICT equipment (computers, network, printers,
PABX, other Telecom materials, Radios, etc.) - Ensure maintenance, service and proper
handling of ICT assets in a small-to-medium sized infrastructure. - Maintain and exploit existing systems, mainly
independently. - The incumbent will manage and administrate a
park of materials. - Provide training and support to the users.
- Manage and run the ICT Helpdesk in the office
in collaboration with other regional support framework.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the ICRC IT
Technician vacancy should hold a University degree in Computer Science,
Telecommunications or related field from a recognised institution. - At least two years’ work experience in a
similar field. - Good knowledge in computer hardware, software
and networks (Windows 8.1, Windows Server 2008, MS Office, Web
Applications, LAN and WAN). - Broad working knowledge and understanding of Telecommunications
(VHF, HF, VSATs, PBX, Telephony, etc.) - Fluent in English language. Knowledge of
French language is an asset. - Excellent analytical and organizational
skills - Sense of responsibility and ability to take initiatives
and work independently. - Willingness of self-education in ICT-related fields.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility and resistance to stress.
- Ability to travel within Uganda or abroad whenever
needed.
