Uganda Limited (IAU) is a non-governmental humanitarian national organization
established in 1988, and duly registered with the NGO Board and NGO Forum. IAU
is actively involved in programs geared towards the protection and improvement
of lives of disadvantaged people living in urban and rural areas in Uganda and
in the Great Lakes Region. InterAid Uganda is focused on its thematic areas of
Rights Protection, Education, Livelihood & Food Security, Health
(HIV&AIDS; Malaria; Maternal and Reproductive Health), Water, Sanitation
& Hygiene (WASH), Environment and Disaster Management and good Management
and Governance systems.
coordinating and implementing all civil works of the program
- The incumbent will be responsible for
designing organisation BOQs for all civil works of the program - Regularly monitoring of all civil works of
the program and ensure contractor’s compliance - In charge of the planning and coordination of
all civil works of the program - Provide technical support and guidance to the
management as regards all civil works - Keenly review and assess all BOQs of
suppliers and advise management on decision making - Work closely with partners –UNHCR and OPM to
ensure that all the constructions are in line with the desired quality and
quantity. - Carrying out technical and feasibility
studies on all sites. - Using a range of computer packages for
developing detailed designs and carrying out the necessary calculations. - Regularly report in writing on delays,
observed quality deficiencies of the works, materials and/or quality issues
relating to construction operations and resolving technical construction
challenges. - Ensuring timely completion of projects within
a given budget and time set by the contractors. - Actively monitor construction activities and
participate in the inspection of the construction and materials as
specified in the contract documents, Contractor’s work plans and best
practice. - Document the best practices implemented,
success stories and case studies for dissemination and learning.
- The applicant must possess a bachelor’s
degree in engineering (Civil, Structural or other related) from a
recognised university - At least three years’ relevant work
experience in construction and civil works. - The jobholder should also be a registered
Engineer with UIPE - Broad working knowledge of civil engineering
principles, standards and regulations relating to construction and
inspection.
