The
Uganda National Oil Company Limited (UNOC) was established by Article 42 of the
Petroleum (Exploration, Development and Production) Act 2013 and incorporated
under the Company’s Act 2012. It is a fully registered limited liability
company wholly owned by Government of Uganda. The overall function of UNOC is;
To handle the State’s Commercial interests in the Oil and Gas industry and
ensure that the resource is exploited in a sustainable manner.

Job Summary: The Chief Executive Officer will be the overall in
charge of the Management of UNOC and is the Accounting Officer of the Company.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide oversight of all UNOC’s activities,
manage the day-to-day operations and ensure smooth functioning and
efficiency of the Company. - Responsible for effective strategic planning
for the Company - Manage effectively the business aspects of
State Participation to maximise value to stakeholders. - The incumbent will propose investments that
the Company may be engaged in.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the CEO vacancy
should hold a Master’s Degree in Engineering, Economics, Law, Business
Administration, Finance and Petroleum Geosciences; - At minimum of fifteen years’ experience, 10
years of which must have been in a senior position in a busy and
successful company or organization; - Working knowledge and experience in the
petroleum industry is an added advantage. - Excellent communication, personnel management
skills - Impeccable level of personal integrity;
- Be commercially astute, possess sound
negotiations and leadership skills and have ability to raise capital for
the Company
