Job Summary: The Brand and Marketing Manager will support The
National Social Security Fund (NSSF) in marketing its products and services to
achieve the company’s membership, contributions and market share objectives.
The jobholder will also be tasked with protecting, growing and building the
Fund’s brand in all key areas of customer needs and clearly position the
organization’s brand as unique in the market place by spearheading the branding
process.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Develop and recommend marketing strategy and
    develop the Fund’s Marketing Plan that will drive growth for the Funds
    products, services and NSSF brand.
  • Ensure NSSF brand positioning is clear,
    consistent & distinctive and drive the growth of band equity of the
    NSSF brand.
  • The incumbent will utilize data to anticipate
    competitive and customer trends, assess strategic implications, and
    optimize business potential based on analysis and consolidate learning
    from marketing programs.
  • Develop communication objectives and
    advertising ideas for the brand by leading the client/agency relationship,
    and challenge the agency to ensure best possible output on the brand and
    demonstrating insight in judging creative material, with a clear
    understanding of brand values, Fund products, customer needs and
    competitive context.
  • The incumbent will develop and implement
    media and advertising strategy (print, outdoor and electronic media) to
    deliver the brand communication objectives.
  • Develop sponsorship strategy and identify sponsorship
    opportunities that build the image of the NSSF brand.
  • Develop promotional strategy and ensure
    implementation and effectiveness of the plans through evaluation.
  • Steer the implementation of marketing and
    branding strategy to deliver the desired brand positioning, create demand
    for the Fund’s products and services in order to ensure the Fund’s market
    leadership.
  • Ensure NSSF brand positioning is clear,
    consistent & distinctive and drive the growth of brand equity of the
    NSSF brand.
  • The incumbent will also manage brand
    application throughout the organization and across all brand touch points
    such as service points, promotional items and communications platforms, in
    order to ensure consistency of the brand identity across all touch points.
  • Make core brand decisions within agreed
    strategy regarding the development of the Brand and promotion of the
    corporate image of NSSF to internal and external stakeholders. Sign off
    all advertising material, advertising channels, media scheduling, brand
    graphics and marketing briefs.
  • Market the brand internally to staff through
    integrated communications campaign, brand training, persuasion and sharing
    in order to build brand passion and brand ownership amongst staff.
  • Prepare, monitor and control an annual
    comprehensive marketing budget to ensure attainment of objectives within
    allocated spend.
  • In charge of the design and implement
    communication tools that ensure effective dissemination of information to
    the various publics internally and externally to support the attainment of
    communication objectives
  • Manage, coach and motivate the human
    resources of the marketing unit to ensure people are of the highest
    quality and committed to achieving the objectives.
  • Develop, implement and monitor an annual
    procurement plan to enable          the
    marketing function achieve its objectives.
  • Develop and monitor Service Level Agreements
    with all marketing related service providers to ensure efficiency, value
    for money and timely delivery against set targets.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate should preferably hold a Bachelor
    of Commerce or related degree with a major in marketing.
  • Professional qualifications in
    marketing-Chartered Marketing or postgraduate qualifications in marketing
    are desired
  • Possession of a Master’s degree in a related
    field is an added advantage
  • At least six years’ marketing experience with
    people management experience in a busy large commercial organization with
    a strong service orientation.
  • Previous exposure and experience in marketing
    management, development and execution of marketing, branding and advertising
    strategies is required.
  • Excellent written and oral communication
    skills

    quality.
