International Justice Mission is a global organization that protects the poor
from violence throughout the developing world. International Justice Mission
partners with local authorities to rescue victims of violence, bring criminals
to justice, restore survivors, and strengthen justice systems. The International Justice Mission (IJM)
Uganda is working to eliminate property grabbing in Uganda by bringing rescue
and restoration to individual victims, accountability to their perpetrators,
and transformation to the public justice system as a whole.

Leadership and Management:
- Support the Director of Casework in overall
program design. - Develop and manage Aftercare goals, budgets,
strategies, staffing plans and evaluation metrics. - Lead and manage the activities of the
Aftercare Department to meet global and local standards, strategies, and
outcomes. - Supervise, support, and mentor the staff in
the Aftercare Department. - Identify, develop, maintain, and liaise with
IJM Aftercare Partner organizations. - Improve work product of Aftercare Department
through training, mentoring and oversight. - Represent interests of the Aftercare
Department to other departments and staff.
Clients:
- Build and strengthen social working relationships
with IJM clients and their families. - Provide needs assessments and treatment plans
to ensure restoration of clients. - Keenly monitor and evaluate client progress
towards defined aftercare goals. - Regularly track case related data on paper
and electronic case tracking management systems.
Services:
- Provide Aftercare services (medical care,
counseling, income generation, food support, educational assistance,
housing, etc.) to clients directly and through aftercare partners. - Respond to crises affecting client safety
with guidance from the Director of Casework. - Provide counseling and support for clients
involved in mediations and litigations.
- Support Attorneys in preparing client for and
participating in legal proceedings. - Provide Attorneys and Investigators with
feedback and information relevant to client representation and IJM’s
intervention. - Assist in hosting guests, visitors, and
volunteers at the IJM Office.
- Participate in IJM programs in
professionalism and Christian spiritual formation. - Perform other tasks as assigned.
- The ideal candidate should preferably hold a Bachelor’s
Degree in psychology, counseling or social work. Graduate studies or
additional certifications in related fields preferred. - A minimum of five or more years’ experience
in counseling, psychology or social work. - Previous exposure and experience in leading a
team or organization. - Previous experience in working with indigent,
HIV positive, or otherwise vulnerable clients. - Prior experience in partnering with other
social service providers. - Computer literate with proficiency in MS Word,
Outlook and Excel. - Applicants with a valid driver’s License
preferred. - Mature Christian faith as defined by the
Apostles’ Creed. - Passionate commitment to IJM’s mission and
values. - Attention to detail, organized and
disciplined with priorities. - Professional in demeanor, appearance, writing
and oral communication. - Works well under stress with a sustained
positive attitude. - Exceptionally high level of honesty and
integrity. - Intelligent, organized, creative and
proactive problem solver. - Proven ability to cooperate effectively in a
multi-cultural environment. - Fluency in English and Luganda, with
excellent writing and speaking in both.
