Women’s Network (UWONET) is an advocacy and lobbying coalition of national
women’s organisations, institutions and individuals in Uganda formed in 1993.
UWONET stands to promote and enhance networking, collective visioning and
action among membership and with different actors working towards development
and the transformation of unequal gender relations in the Ugandan society. UWONET focuses on influencing policy and
practice changes through policy advocacy; networking; information management
and; institutional strengthening and capacity building.
Namutumba and Kamuli districts and gain valuable experience in the non-profit
sector. The Internship programme aims at providing hands on experience in
working with GBV management with survivors experiencing violence and abuse. The
experience will also empower and prepare the young professionals to support the
growth of Human Rights and Social Protection for gender equality and women’s
empowerment. The internship is for a period of 11 months, (February to
December). The Internship placement is in Kamuli and Namutumba district.
- Support day to day provision of quality GBV
case management services to survivors within Busoga region - The incumbent will also support the implementation of
activities and programmes at district level - Represent the organisation in community and
district meetings - Responsible
for the documentation of project and programme outcomes
- The ideal candidates for the Internship jobs should
at least have a Bachelor’s degree in social work, SWASA, Community
psychology, Law, or any relevant humanities - The Intern should also be self-motivated,
dynamic, hardworking and innovative. - Computer literacy skills
- A keen interest in advancing human rights
especially women’s rights. - Willingness to work as a team
- Have a voluntary spirit
- Excellent command of the English language,
thus communicate fluently in spoken and written English. - The candidate should have a good command of
Luganda or Lusoga.
