Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) was established by an Act of Parliament;

develop and maintain the national roads network, advise Government on general
roads policy and contribute to addressing of transport concerns, among others.

The Weigh Bridge Controller will also report any malfunction immediately it is
noted as per the procedure and follow-up on the repairs necessary, ensure that overloaded
trucks are offloaded and re-weighed, maintenance of station buildings, drive
ways and parking yards. The incumbent will conduct the statistical analysis of
the data and prepare reports.
- Manage weighbridge operations in line with
departmental guidelines and targets; - Prepare and submit reports on weighbridge
operations in line with departmental guidelines and targets; - Conduct monitoring of occupational, health
and safety procedures in weigh bridge operations in line with departmental
standards and guidelines; - Build and maintain client relations with the
weigh bridge users in line with departmental guidelines and standards; - Develop risk matrix and put in place risk
mitigation measures in the management of weighbridges; - Respond to audit reports and implement agreed
recommendations within specified time frames; - Actively participate in planning, budgeting
and reporting in line with departmental guidelines and targets; - Mentor and supervise performance and develop
direct reports in line with the performance management system of UNRA. - Perform any other duties as assigned by the Manager

Engineering, Civil Engineering Economics, Social Sciences, Business
Administration, Management, ICT or any other relevant degree; - Relevant experience will be an added

- Computer literacy skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and to
develop subordinates; - Excellent interpersonal, particularly
staff/management relation skills - Excellent oral and written communication
skills.
