various UAP businesses. The Group’s origins in Kenya date back to the 1920’s when Provincial Insurance
Company of East Africa was incorporated. UAP Group embarked on a multi-phased
restructuring plan in 2006 to shift from a traditional non-life insurance
business to a broad-based Insurance and Financial Services Group. UAP Group has
grown into a Pan-African Financial Services Group with a geographical footprint
in six (6) countries namely Kenya, Uganda, South Sudan, Rwanda, Tanzania and
Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). The range of services and products have
grown beyond General Insurance to include Life Assurance, Property Investments,
Fund Management and related Financial Services such as insurance premium
financing, financial advisory and securities brokerage. The Group own UAP
Insurance (U) Limited, the leading insurance company in Uganda.
Summary: The Sales Manager – Group Business will be responsible for the
procurement of New & Renewal Group Business premiums that include Group
Life, Group Creditor, Group Funeral & Pension.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Build and maintain a profitable Group Business
portfolio countrywide
In charge of recruiting a dedicated Sales Team to
specifically procure Group business
Achieve the approved Sales performance benchmarks
Develop reward based incentives for the
intermediaries in our distribution network
Initiate Market development & penetration
strategies countrywide
Develop joint planning initiatives with our
business partners
The incumbent will establish product awareness
campaigns for the business partners in our distribution network
Ensure optimal utilization of all available
Company resources in all areas of management, Agency development training and
customer service.
Skills and Experience:
The UAP Insurance Sales Manager – Group Business should
preferably hold a university degree with a Diploma in Sales & Marketing
A minimum of three years working experience in procuring
Corporate Business with a proven track record in performance.
Excellent track record of delivering results when
targets are set.
Good customer care skills
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and
presentation skill
Good relationship building and maintenance skills
Good selling skills
Good problem solving skills
Staff supervision, training and performance
management skills
Skilled in conducing market intelligence and
providing feedback
