Company of East Africa was incorporated. UAP Group embarked on a multi-phased

business to a broad-based Insurance and Financial Services Group. UAP Group has
grown into a Pan-African Financial Services Group with a geographical footprint
in six (6) countries namely Kenya, Uganda, South Sudan, Rwanda, Tanzania and
Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). The range of services and products have
grown beyond General Insurance to include Life Assurance, Property Investments,
Fund Management and related Financial Services such as insurance premium
financing, financial advisory and securities brokerage. The Group own UAP
Insurance (U) Limited, the leading insurance company in Uganda.
Duties and Responsibilities:
In charge of planning publicity strategies and
campaigns
Writing and producing presentations and press
releases
Dealing with enquiries from the public, the press,
and related organisations
Responsible for organising promotional events such
as press conferences, open days, exhibitions, tours and visits Speaking
publicly at interviews, press conferences and presentations
Providing clients with information about new
promotional opportunities and current PR campaigns progress
In charge of analysing media coverage
.commissioning or undertaking relevant market research
Work closely with clients, managerial and
journalistic staff about budgets, timescales and objectives Designing, writing
and/or producing presentations, press releases, articles, leaflets, ‘in-house’ Journals,
reports, publicity brochures, information for web sites and promotional videos.
Responsible for filling, records, ensure you have
all material are well label for ease of identification.
Build relationships with style influencers and
tastemakers, with a presence in the fashion industry and community.

A weekly write up in the daily
Communicate with the stakeholder should be within
24 hours
Improve media relation with monthly meeting with
various media houses to discuss the products and services
Skills and Experience:
The applicant should have proven skills, knowledge
and experience in the design and execution marketing, communications and public
relations activities.
Strong creative, strategic, analytical,
organizational and personal sales skills.
Previous experience developing and managing
budgets, and hiring, training, developing, supervising and appraising
personnel.
Demonstrated successful experience writing press
releases, making presentations and Negotiating with media.
Awareness of celebrity talent, films and TV
Sophisticated knowledge of media and track record
in securing favourable publicity
PR officer skills and abilities:
Proven ability to illustrate a results-focused
approach and commitment to clients. Experience managing client relationships as
well as day-to-day activities.
Be a multichannel communicator and integrator of
media strategies across several channels, specifically earned, shared and
owned.
A strong team orientation is critical based on the
collaborative culture.
Excellent media and editor relationships.
Ability to handle multiple concurrent tasks and
changing priorities
Prior exposure and experience in managing the
design and production of print materials and publications.
Show commitment to working with shared leadership
and in cross-functional teams.
Possess excellent oral and written communications
skills.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects at a
time.
Out-of-town, overnight travel is required.
Excellent analytical thinking skills
Solid knowledge of lifestyle media and
highly-developed skills in building and maintaining media relationships.
