has received funding for Access to Safe Drinking water project. The project
will be implemented for three years in Wakiso and Kyankwanzi Districts. It
focuses on the use of Proctor and Gamble (P&G) purifiers of water at household
and institutional level. The project team will engage the community at
household level, village health team members, Sub-county and District leaders.
tasked with ensuring that Safe water and sanitation activities in the Sub-counties
in Wakiso and Kyankwanzi Districts are effectively supervised.
- Manages safe water activities in selected
communities in Wakiso and Kyankwanzi Districts - Works closely with the District Local
Government to ensure collaboration in the promotion of safe water
interventions - Coordinates the training of Village Health Team
members in hygiene and sanitation activities - Prepares and submits monthly, quarterly and
annual reports for submission to the donor - Coordinates consultative meetings with other
stakeholders in the water and sanitation sectors - Oversees the activities of the village health
teams in the communities in Wakiso and Kyankwanzi Districts - Actively participates in the production and
distribution of IEC materials on safe water and sanitation - Takes part in the promotion of sanitation and
hygiene campaigns in the Sub-counties - Steers the monitoring and evaluation
activities for the project - Actively participates in advocacy activities
for improving access to safe drinking water - Requests, manages and accounts for project
funds - Takes part in the development of concept notes
for scale up of sanitation and hygiene activities - Ensures effective communication amongst the
community, local partner staff and District Local Government. - Performs any other duties that may from time
to time be assigned by the immediate supervisor
- The ideal candidate should preferably hold a
Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Environment
health. - Additional qualification in Project
Management is an added advantage. - At least two years of post-qualification
experience in a similar position in a Child based institution. - Computer literacy skills
- Demonstrable aptitude for teamwork.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication
skills - Good decision making skills and abilities
