in facilitating collaborative research especially in the area of brain injury
and neurodevelopment. The organization subcontracts and manages research
grants. The Thrasher Research Fund has granted GHU an award to study the
sensitivity of lung ultrasound to detect pneumonia in children, ages 6-months
to 5-years, who have the clinical diagnosis of pneumonia. 
Job
Summary:
The Medical Officer will mainly be responsible for the day to day
clinical aspects of the study.
Key
Duties and Responsibilities: 
·        
In charge of identifying and Screening of patients
for possible enrolment into the study according to the protocol.
·        
Responsible for the recruitment and enrollment of
eligible patients into the study.
·        
Consenting, and explaining the study to caregivers
and older children.
·        
Providing emergency and continuous medical care to
children taking part in the study for the duration of the study.
Qualifications,
Skills and Experience: 
·        
The applicant must hold an M.B.Ch.B; Completion of
Internship; registered with the Medical Council.
·        
Demonstrated research experience in respiratory
illness is an added advantage.
·        
Applicants should preferably have a keen interest
or experience in respiratory illnesses and acute care in pediatrics.
·        
The incumbent must be hardworking, enthusiastic
about research with good communication skills.
·        
Should have completed some form of human
participants training in research and /or Good clinical practice.
·        
Must speak fluent Lusoga.
