broad-based Insurance and Financial Services Group. UAP Group has grown into a
Pan-African Financial Services Group with a geographical footprint in six (6)
countries namely Kenya, Uganda, South Sudan, Rwanda, Tanzania and Democratic
Republic of Congo (DRC). The range of services and products have grown beyond
General Insurance to include Life Assurance, Property Investments, Fund
Management and related Financial Services such as insurance premium financing,
financial advisory and securities brokerage. The Group own UAP Insurance (U)
Limited, the leading insurance company in Uganda.
Summary: The Marketing Officer will
support the Business Development Manager in the management of the operational
and administrative functions of the Sales & Marketing Department.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Management of marketing & promotional
activities for UAP Life (Retail & Corporate)
The incumbent will be in charge of overseeing the Procurement
process for UAP Life promotional items in co-ordination with UAP Life’s
procurement team.
Oversight of all promotional items for use across
various promotional events countrywide
Management of UAP Life Events calendar
Management of UAP Distribution Channels Loyalty
Program
Maintaining all department’s reports
Management of Tender Processing and documentation
Offer support to the Distribution Channel Exec in
managing clients and Channel partner relationships inclusive of complaints log.
Provide follow up support for quotations and
proposals done by the distribution channels team – Sales Pipeline management
using CRM
In charge of the maintenance of Register of
Channel Partners and ensure compliance to respective laws i.e. Insurance Act
Co-ordinate on ensuring service deliverables
between Business Development, Operations and Retail Sales departments on the
following areas: –
Policy and invoice issuance,
Business Policy Endorsement and invoice issuance
and update of Group Life & Annuity Policy Registers
and update of Credit Control Reports
and update of client’s e-newsletter
sales cycle as per agreed timelines i.e. business acquisition to premiums
payment
Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidate should preferably hold a Bachelor’s
degree in Communications or Marketing is preferred. Others like Commerce or
Numerical degree will be considered too
A minimum of two to four years’ experience in PR,
marketing financial services or communications.
Excellent track record in delivering results when
objectives are set
Excellent relationship management skills
High level of initiative and self-motivation
Computer literacy skills i.e. working knowledge of
MS Office suite of programmes
Task and time management proficiency
Demonstrated ability to work independently while
demonstrating excellent team working skills
Excellent communications skills
Resilience to cope with pressure of working in a
fast paced, dynamic and rapidly changing customer expectations environment
