Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) was established by an Act of Parliament;

1st July 2008. The mandate of UNRA is to
develop and maintain the national roads network, advise Government on general
roads policy and contribute to addressing of transport concerns, among others.

Vehicle Load Control will also be responsible for accountability of the
resources under the unit including human, financial, property, equipment.
- Actively participate in the planning,
budgeting and account for vehicle load control resources in line with UNRA
financial management guidelines; - Plan and implement quality management systems
in vehicle load control operations in line with UNRA guidelines and
International best practices. - Plan and coordinate the implementation of
fixed Weighbridge operations in line with weighbridge guidelines and
applicable legislation. - Regularly review current legislation on
vehicle loading and propose necessary amendments. - Formulate and implement Occupational Health
and Safety (OHS) systems and standards in weighbridge operations in line
with Health and Safety laws. - Plan and implement a system of managing risks
in the fixed weighbridge management activities and develop risk mitigation
measures. - Mentor and supervise the performance of staff
and develop reports in line with the performance management system of UNRA - Perform any other duties as assigned by the Head

Load Control job vacancy should hold an Honour’s Degree Mechanical
Engineering, Civil Engineering, Economics, Social Sciences, Law, Business
Administration, Management, or any other relevant degree - Possession of a Masters’ Degree in related
field will be an added advantage - Possession of
Post graduate qualifications in the relevant field will be an added
advantage. - At least five years’ experience in roads
infrastructure or enforcement in a large organization. - Demonstrated working experience in managing
an organization/business unit with diverse professions. - Computer literacy skills
- Knowledge of multiple languages is an added
advantage. - High degree of integrity.
- Proven ability to work as part of a team and
to develop subordinates. - Excellent interpersonal, particularly
staff/management relations - Excellent oral and written communication
skills. - Proven ability to manage/supervise multi
skilled teams and deliver accurate results in a timely manner and in an
environment with multiple and challenging tasks. - Ability to work under stressful conditions.
