Trust Bank Uganda is part of the Guaranty Trust Bank plc, one of the leading
banks in Africa. In 2013, it acquired Fina Bank Group which had been in
operation in Kenya for over 25 years with subsidiaries in Rwanda and Uganda.
GTBank has been in operation for over 23 years and today operates over 200
branches in Nigeria, Gambia, Ghana, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Cote d’lvoire and
the United Kingdom.
Summary: The Web and Graphics Designer will work closely with the team to develop
Brand Guidelines both print and digital and roll out the bank’s brand and
external affairs activities while helping to develop and implement
communications campaigns and activities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
In charge of interpreting and anticipating the
bank’s creative business needs and developing a concept to suit their purpose;
Responsible for estimating and ensuring met
deadlines required to complete artworks;
Responsible for developing design briefs by
gathering information and data through research;
Thinking creatively to produce new ideas and
concepts;
Actively contributing ideas and design artwork to
the overall brief;
Working with printers, copywriters, photographers,
other designers, account executives, and marketing specialists;
Keeping abreast of emerging technologies in new
media, particularly design programs such as Adobe Fireworks, Illustrator,
Photoshop, CorelDraw, Acrobat, Director, Dreamweaver, Flash and Flash CS3, as
most graphic design work is now completed on a computer;
In charge of the installation of the banks
intranet in other countries or as per the requirements of the bank;
Updating of the banks intranet as per its
requirements;
Mentoring and training the new staff in on how to
use the intranet;
Ensuring that all checkbook requests are in an
acceptable format for the cheque printer – in this case De La Rue Ltd;
Responsible for the development and implementation
of the bank’s website and ensuring that it reflects the desires of the bank;
Ensuring worldwide compatibility with the banks
website;
Ensure that the materials bought by the marketing
department are of the highest quality at the lowest price
Updating and ensuring that the banks website keeps
abreast with the new internet standards and technologies;
Producing a design that will be attractive to the
target user, has a logical navigation system and has all the features required;
Writing web pages in a combination of codes, such
as HTML and XHTML, CSS, Javascript, Actionscript, Flash, or using
code-generating programs, such as Dreamweaver and PHP Coder and others;
Ensure the proper distribution of marketing
materials to branches as needs occur;
Assisting our branches / departments with their
marketing needs;
Act as the Bank’s Brand Ambassador and Guardian.
Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidates for the Guaranty Trust Bank
Graphics Designer job opportunity should hold Higher National Diploma &
Diploma in Graphic & Web design.
Skills and knowledge of Social media management
& Digital strategy
Working knowledge of emerging technologies in new
media, particularly design programs such as Adobe Fireworks, Illustrator,
Photoshop, CorelDraw, Acrobat, Director, Dreamweaver, Flash and Flash CS3.
Excellent communication skills
Excellent interpersonal and customer service

Proven ability to work under pressure with minimum

Good negotiation skills
Computer literacy skills with proficiency in
Microsoft Windows, Word Processing and general computer use
