Limited is a manpower management solutions firm operating in the East African
Region in the countries of Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda and South Sudan. They would
like to recruit for a valuable client, Ascent Capital Advisory Services LLP which
invests in experienced and ambitious entrepreneurs that have the courage and
drive to grow a best in class enterprise.
Summary: The Investment Associate will offer technical support in all aspects of
the investment process including the origination, evaluation, structuring,
portfolio management and exit stages.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Investment appraisal by carrying out macro and
company specific research
In charge of managing the deal list and coordinating
the weekly meetings
Developing financial models
In charge of drafting offer letters, letters of
intent and term sheets
Conducting due diligence
In charge of the negotiation of financial terms
Preparation and presentation of PIAMs and FIAMs to
the IC
Semi-annual portfolio reviews with portfolio
valuations.

Ensure compliance with all company policies and
procedures.
Ensure compliance with the CMA rules and
regulations if any.
Ensure compliance with all applicable statutes.
Ensure timely and appropriate reporting to the
Investment Director
Provide timely input to the preparation of
investment and financial briefs as may be directed by the supervisor
In charge of the preparation and submission of
investor reports
Developing investee value creation plan
Preparation and presentation of mid-year investee
company reviews
Working closely with management teams to execute
and deliver value creation plans
Secondment to investee business, if required
The jobholder has a secondary responsibility for
the following:
Assist in portfolio management of the entire
investment portfolio.
Income generation based on set and approved
targets.
The incumbent advises the Investment Director on
investment opportunities.
The jobholder recommends to the Investment
Director Business initiatives to safeguard the interests of Ascent with regard
to its current business portfolio.

Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidate should preferably hold an undergraduate
degree with professional qualifications in finance or accounting. Possession of
CFA, CPA-K or ACCA.
At least a year to three years’ experience in
private equity investments, investment banking, corporate finance, financial
analysis, fund management or asset management within an investment or financial
services company.
Previous experience in conducting company
valuations is essential.
Excellent analytical skills.
Good negotiation skills.
Proven ability to network and build rapport with
high profile business people.
Excellent formal presentation skills.
Excellent oral communication and report writing
skills.
A good appreciation of economic developments
locally and in the region.
Computer literacy with proficiency in MS Suite of
packages.
