- Ensuring routine/preventive and periodic
maintenance of ferries in line with departmental guidelines and standards. - Maintain the ferry landing site and
facilities in line departmental standards - In charge of monitoring of occupational,
health and safety procedures in line with departmental standards and
guidelines. - Develop risk matrix and put in place risk
mitigation measures in the area of traffic and road safety; - Quickly respond to audit reports and
implement agreed recommendations within specified time frames; - Actively participate in planning, budgeting
and reporting in line with departmental guidelines and targets; - Keen review of performance and data from
Ferry Monitoring equipment/systems and prepares reports; - Actively participates in contract management
of outsourced ferry related services; - Mentor and supervise the performance and
development of staff in the unit in line with the performance management
system of UNRA. - Perform any other duties as assigned by the Head

vacancy should hold a Degree in Marine/Nautical Science, Mechanical
Engineering, or any other relevant qualification; - At least three years’ experience in ferries
operations or marine services. - High levels of integrity;
- Computer literacy skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and to
develop subordinates; - Excellent interpersonal, particularly
staff/management relation skills - Excellent oral and written communication
skills; - Ability to manage/supervise multi skilled
teams and deliver accurate results in a timely manner and in an
environment with multiple and challenging tasks.
