Africa. Our business is operating and maintaining Nalubaale and Kiira
hydroelectric Power Stations. Our mission is to be the Centre of Excellence in
Power Concession Management.
Summary: The Control & Instrumentation Technician will manage all necessary
repairs, maintenance and modifications required for future improvement on the
two power stations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Improve the availability and life of the plant.
The incumbent will use available data to interpret
future weakness of the system.
Regularly report on system deviations.
Manage the deviations when required.
In charge of formulating technical procedures and
standards when required.
Undertake direct repairs on control and
instrumentation systems.
Carry out direct calibration on control and
instrumentation field devices.
Provide technical diagnostic service in the field
of electrical control and instrumentation.
Prepare and submit technical reports for future
references.
Interpret risks of trends
Recommend and implement modifications on electrical
and instrumentation plant.
Identify problem areas on specific items of the
plant and evaluating trends.
Discuss data trends with other team members
Suggest future plans before break down is
registered
Use plant statistical data to analyze and improve
the plant systems.
Keenly check electrical and control
instrumentation systems.
Take out plant permits and checking isolations.
Check and assure that safety for both equipment
and staff.
Performing a quality control function on works
done by electrical personnel as may be allocated. Ensuring that the appropriate
measuring and test equipment are calibrated timely and following up with the
Control and Instrumentation engineer to ensure that the C&I register is
up-to-date.
Perform any other duties as assigned by the Electrical
Supervisor
Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidate should preferably hold an Ordinary
Diploma in Electrical Engineering or its equivalent from a recognized
university or technical college as a minimum.
At least three years’ experience in control and
instrumentation.
Excellent track record of success in power plant
systems.
