About UNRA:
The
Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) was established by an Act of Parliament;
The Uganda National Authority Act, No. 15 of 2006. UNRA became operational on
1st July 2008.  The mandate of UNRA is to
develop and maintain the national roads network, advise Government on general
roads policy and contribute to addressing of transport concerns, among others.
Job Summary: The Survey Technician will be in charge of the collection
and analysis of land
survey/geometric
data as well as report preparation. The incumbent will also be in charge of the
validation of Data collected and proper maintenance of the equipment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Survey roads and bridges in accordance with
    good practice, appropriate standards, guidance documents and specifications
    in order to collect topographic and cadastral data for design and project
    monitoring during construction;
  • Setting out roads and bridge structures for
    construction;
  • Significantly contribute to the upkeep of
    survey equipment ensuring it is fit for purpose and field measurement is
    to the required standard;
  • Render support in the scheduling of field
    work activities;
  • Prepare and submit reports on data collected.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Surveyor
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The applicant for the UNRA Survey Technician
    job vacancy should hold an Ordinary diploma in Land Surveying or diploma
    in relevant field.
  • At least two years’ experience in Land
    Surveys on Engineering Projects;
  • High level of computer skills and experience
    in the use of Survey Equipment and digital mapping.
  • Computer literacy skills
  • High level of integrity;
  • Proven track record of outstanding
    performance;
  • Ability to work as part of a team;
  • Excellent oral and written communication
    skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal, particularly
    staff/management relation skills
  • Ability to deliver accurate results in a timely
    manner and in an environment with multiple and challenging tasks.
