the Association of Microfinance Institutions in Uganda (AMFIU) and is a
Christian based microfinance.
Job
Summary:
The Business Advisor will play a focal advisory role in mentoring and
facilitating the Board, Management and Staff towards institutional development
and turn around. The advisor shall provide support for 15 days per quarter. The
major aim of this assignment is to transform ECLOF into a leading national
financial institution providing access to financial services in a financially
sustainable manner to underserved segments of the Ugandan economy, with a
growth strategy focused on SME finance, rural finance and microfinance.
Key
Duties and Responsibilities: 
·        
The incumbent will conduct institution-wide
evaluation of lending operations and restructure management of these
operations.
·        
Identify and frame key areas for support, and
coordinating the efforts to bridge the gaps.
·        
Responsible for the development of transformation
plan for the expansion of the Company’s business activity in the field of the
financing of the small and medium size enterprises (SME) as well as rural
finance. Support execution of the strategic, tactical and operational plans.
Development and/or refining of the market position of the Company’s financial
services and commercial strategy.

In charge of reviewing the organization and
structure of the Company in order to ensure clear responsibilities with
incentives aligned to strategy
·        
Coaching and mentoring of senior management to
strengthen their managerial and technical skills.
·        
Actively monitor progress, perform quality
control, and identify areas of weaknesses to be addressed by the senior
management and the Board of Directors.
Qualifications,
Skills and Experience: 
·        
The applicant should preferably hold a Master’s
degree in Business Management, Finance, Management or related field.
·        
At least three to five years’ experience in
strategic and change management in a financial institution.
·        
Broad knowledge and understanding of the micro-finance
industry and technology
·        
Previous experience and training in managing and
supervising projects, plans and people.
·        
Working knowledge and experience in lending,
credit and risk management.
·        
Possess excellent training, facilitation, mentoring,
and coaching skills.
·        
Excellent communication, interpersonal and
marketing skills
·        
Broad working knowledge in economic and financial
topics
·        
Leadership and competence in managing and implementing
varied plans and programs.
·        
Demonstrated ability to analyze reports and other
forms of data, with sound judgment and planning skills.
·        
Strong report writing, communication and
networking skills/people skills.
·        
Possess a high degree of personal integrity.
·
