University Walter Reed Project (MUWRP) is a non-profit HIV research program
that was established in 2002 as a result of a memorandum of understanding
between Makerere University and The Henry M. Jackson foundation for Advancement
of Military Medicine Inc. of USA (HJF). The primary purpose of MUWRP is to
develop, evaluate and provide interventions to mitigate disease threats of
public health importance to Uganda. Activities include; vaccine development and
building of vaccine testing capability in Uganda, conducting of epidemiological
and basic research and provision of HIV Treatment, care and support in Kayunga,
Mukono and Buvuma Districts.
Summary: The QA/QC Officer will offer technical support to the MUWRP PEPFAR
program through the review of completeness and accuracy of filled HMIS records
at the health units and double check all MUWRP data to ensure correctness
before submission for data entry.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Regularly collect, sort and deliver all MUWRP data
collection tools to the Data Management center.
Keenly review all data collection forms for data
transcriptions errors and fill in the appropriate data error logs as described
in the QAQC SOP.
Offer technical support in the collection of
planned / adhoc program data to support reporting and inform the program as
required
Routinely conduct QC data audits at facilities and
inform appropriate stakeholders on errors.
Abrupt/ routine data verification of program data
generated from outreach activities.
Regularly check for adherence to data SOPs at
health facilities and provide relevant data collection tools and SOPs where
required
Compile and submit weekly QA/QC updates for
discussions in weekly meetings
Perform data entry when requested.
Exercise and maintain confidentiality of client
information at all times.
Actively participate in surveys and chart reviews
as and when required
Skills and Experience:
The applicants should preferably hold Diplomas in Records
management or Health Records Management from a recognized institution
Additional qualification in a health related
discipline like Enrolled/Registered Nurse/ Midwifery is an added advantage.
A minimum of two years’ experience in a health
setting with knowledge of managing HIV program related data.
Computer knowledge in database management, email,
etc.
Good report writing skills
Familiarity with community health center setting
and committed to serve in such activities.
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Excellent communication skills
Ability to reside in Kayunga, Mukono and Buvuma
Islands.
Ability to travel on water.
