About
US:
The Ministry of Water and Environment
(MWE) through the Directorate of Water Development DWD) established Umbrella
Organisations (UOs) as de-concentrated units to support the Operation and
Maintenance (O&M) of the water and sanitation facilities in small towns and
rural growth centres geared towards improving their Functionality and
Sustainability. The UOs which are funded by both Government of Uganda (GoU) and
the Development Partners (DPs) are de-concentrated in six regions namely;
South- Western-Kabale, Central-Wakiso, Mid-Western- Kyenjojo, Northern-Lira,
Eastern-Mbale and Karamoja-Moroto covering the entire Country.
Key
Duties and Responsibilities: 
·        
Producing
quarterly, annual and ad-hoc workplans summarising the physical and financial
performance targets of the social services Department of the Umbrella
Organization.
·        
Guiding
and making appropriate recommendations to management team on identified project
implementation strategies and project targets and operational problems through
re-ports, review meetings and site visits.
·        
Generate
specific outputs (deliverables) as determined from time to time in the
respective projected work plans for each quarter
·        
Support
and train graduate and industrial trainees deployed under the department to realise
the training objectives.
·        
Keep
a register of all assets allocated to the Department and ensure they are
operated, maintained and used for their intended purposes and for the
achievement of the facility objectives.
·        
Perform
any other assignment that is assigned from time to time.
Qualifications,
Skills and Experience: 
·        
The
applicant should preferably hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Social
Work and Social Administration, Development Studies/ Public Administration. Possession
of a Postgraduate in Social Sciences or any related field.
·        
At
least three years’ experience in community mobilisation activities in the Water
and Sanitation sector.
