Job Summary: The Public
Relations, Advocacy & Communications Coordinator will primarily initiate,
design, and plan strategies for promoting and enhancing the public image of
Baylor-Uganda in line with the Organization mission and objectives.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
·        
Develop and monitor the implementation of policies,
strategies, and guidelines, for Public Relations, Advocacy and communications
in line with the Baylor- Uganda 5 year strategic plan and National Paediatric
and Adolescent HIV policies.
·        
The incumbent will develop and monitor the
implementation of Public Relations, Advocacy and communications ‘operational
strategy’ based on holistic strategic thinking and monitor its implementation
through periodically developed quarterly consolidated BSC, data utilization
& reporting by program implementers; then prepare consolidated periodic
performance reports to key stakeholders in line with Baylor-Uganda’s mission.

Develop and monitor the implementation of a
consolidated ‘Public Relations, Advocacy and communications’ plan and budget in
the regions; as well as monitor the integration of related activities during planning
and budgeting for any Baylor-Uganda grant in line with the various grant
objectives and Baylor-Uganda financial guidelines.
·        
Develop and maintain a competent & motivated
“Unit team” through implementation of HR support activities in line with the
Human resources manual.
·        
Actively monitor the development and usage of
organizational key information tools that promote both internal and external
relations; then represent Baylor-Uganda at local, regional, and international
fora so as to engage the public about Baylor-Uganda’s mandate in line with the
organization’s policies and guidelines.
·        
Develop and monitor the implementation of a system
to track local and international media reports concerning paediatric/adolescent
HIV/AIDS; and other aspects in the Baylor-Uganda mandate; and disseminate the
findings for management action and staff awareness in line with Baylor-Uganda’s
mission.
·        
Develop and maintain good working relations with the
media, including; local and national newspapers, magazines, social media
platforms, radios, & TVs; then professionally engage them instantly to
rectify issues that negatively impact on the organization’s image, while
boosting its visibility periodically through targeted promotional messages in
line with the Baylor-Uganda’s communications policy.

Actively monitor the organizations’ progress in
terms of building and maintaining of strong alliances and networks with public
and private partner organizations for concerted advocacy efforts and greater
participation in policy dialogue, then report their impact on Baylor-Uganda’s
performance, image, and visibility.
·        
Responsible for developing and monitoring the
dissemination/usage of public information, advocacy and educational materials
on HIV/ AIDS and services offered by Baylor-Uganda; and those that promote behavioural
change and health seeking behaviours, then periodically report on their impact
in Baylor-Uganda in line with the various grant objectives.
·        
Develop and monitor the implementation of strategies
for website content management; writing/editing for the web; graphic design;
and site management.
·        
Develop and monitor the implementation of advocacy
strategies that promote a vibrant civil society; targeted community
mobilization; and community engagement in advocacy and resource mobilization to
enhance community ownership and sustainability.
·        
The incumbent will monitor the implementation of
guidelines for developing press briefs, and organizing press conferences and
events that provide information to the general public and key stakeholders in
line with the various grant objectives and departmental mandate.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
·        
The applicant should preferably hold a master’s
degree in Communication and Journalism, or any other Communications and
Advocacy related master’s degree; with a degree in Mass Communication (Public
Relations/Media Communication).
·        
The applicant must have at least five years’ experience
in a reputable Non-Governmental or Private Organisation
·        
Working knowledge of: project planning &
management; principles of donor guidelines; and with a strong understanding of
Communication and Advocacy issues.
·        
Comprehensive knowledge of managing online marketing
and outreach campaigns.
·

·

Age: Between 30-45
years
