facilitate the establishment and development of sustainable small enterprises
in Africa, thereby creating new wealth for the economy and reducing poverty.
FinAfrica supports the start-up of new businesses and empower existing ones by
providing a packaged hand-holding service incorporating business incubation,
business skills training as well as advisory and mentorship services for
business development.
Job
Summary:
 The Program Manager will support
FinAfrica’s exiting donor funded programs that work on the intersection of
development work and business development. As a program manager you are the
head responsible manager, responsible for the successful implementation of
programme activities. You will manage planning, budgets, program teams and all
other program related aspects such as donor relations reporting and monitoring
& evaluation planning and execution.
Key
Duties and Responsibilities: 
·        
In charge of the overall management and
coordination of implementation of the donor funded & piloting programs from
FinAfrica.
·        
Initiate program planning, budgeting, HR
management and strategies, compliance and programme development.
·        
Gatekeeping budgets and time, anticipating on
programme opportunities and constraints.
·        
Ensure compliance to approved implementation
methodology, work plans and budgets.
·        
Build and strengthen donor and  partner relationships. Seek for new
opportunities within the business development / NGO landscape. Writing
proposals for new programs.
·        
In charge of planning of monitoring and evaluation
activities, quality control measurements and performance indicators.
·        
Provide consultancy, assistance & mentorship
to the FinAfrica incubatees.
·        
Implement business development & incubation
tasks within programs, assess business plans, financial plans forecasting behaviour
of program beneficiaries.
·        
Responsible for report on all programs to the
board and program partners.
·        
Effectively manage project scope by ensuring any
changes to scope are documented and approved by pertinent staff with
appropriate documentation;
Qualifications,
Skills and Experience: 
·        
The applicant should preferably hold a Degree from
a recognized institution in development studies, business development or
related comparable studies.
·        
At least five years’ experience in both the
private and not-for-profit sector as a program or project manager responsible
of leading programs, teams & budgets.
·        
Professional Project Management Certification such
as PMP, PRINCE 2 or similar project Certification will be an added advantage.
·        
Prior exposure and experience in the business
incubation, development sector or entrepreneurships preferred.
·        
Takes the initiative to set-up and implement
structures and control mechanisms for budget & planning of the programs.
·        
Independent worker, self-motivated & proven
ability to create structures.
·        
Accounting knowledge and experience is a must.
·        
Report & proposal writing experience is a
must.
·        
Ability to turn ideas into actions and organizes
work that needs to be done.
·        
Committed to work in a ‘flat’ hierarchical
organisation, maintain working relationships with field teams, staff of donor
& partner for financial, program and monitoring and evaluation meetings.
·        
Ability to work closely with financial department
as well as field officers, and is not afraid to address issues when they arise
with directors as well as the team directly, making impartial judgements.
·        
Strong motivation to grow into the organization,
scouting opportunities as part of management team.
