specializes in enhancing the performance and productivity of client’s work
force and empowering organizations’ to deliver real change. They would like to
recruit for a valuable client, a well-established manufacturing company
situated in Uganda, Kampala.
Job Summary: The Public
Relations Officer will be in charge of preparing and supervising the production
of publicity brochures, handouts, direct mail leaflets, promotional videos,
photographs, films.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
Collating and analysing media coverage Planning,
developing and implementing PR strategies
Working closely with colleagues and key spokespeople
The incumbent will be liaising with and answering
enquiries from media, individuals and other organisations, often via telephone
and email
In charge of researching, writing and distributing
press releases to targeted media
Writing and editing in-house magazines, case
studies, speeches, articles and annual reports
Preparing and supervising the production of
publicity brochures, handouts, direct mail leaflets, promotional videos,
photographs, films and multimedia programs
Devising and coordinating photo opportunities
Organising events including press conferences,
exhibitions, open days and press tours
Maintaining and updating information on the
organisation’s website; 
Managing and updating information and engaging with
users on social media sites such as Twitter and Facebook 
In charge of commissioning market research
Fostering community relations through events such as
open days and through involvement in community initiatives
Managing the PR aspect of a potential crisis
Qualifications, Skills and
The ideal candidate should preferably hold a relevant
degree qualification in PR, Mass communication from a well-known institute
The Public Relations Officer should have at least
five years of PR experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Broad working knowledge of the Ugandan market and
proven work experience in cultural context of East Africa
Computer literacy i.e. proficiency in MS Power point
and Word, internet and email
