About US:
Johnass
International College of Health Sciences (JICHS), is a private institution,
destined to address the inadequacy of healthcare training in Uganda, the East
African region and beyond. The College is licensed by the Uganda Ministry of
Education and Sports to focus on training the Healthcare practitioners at
Certificate levels. In future, it will offer Degrees and Diploma programs. The
institution is at the moment composed of one School of Nursing and Midwifery.
Job Summary: The Health
Tutor (Nursing) will instruct and give supervision to trainees during practical
lessons.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:  
·        
In charge of preparing teaching materials for the
trainees;
·        
Preparing and conducting lessons for the trainee
nurses;
·        
Actively participating in assessing trainee’s
performance in class;
·        
Preparing and arranging clinical/field work
activities for the trainees;
·        
Maintaining and ensuring proper use of inventory and
equipment;
·        
Participating in co-curricular and community
activities;
·        
Guiding and counseling students in their day to day
activities;
·        
Performing any other duties as assigned by the
Supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:  
·        
The Health Tutor (Nursing) should be qualified with
EITHER An Advanced Diploma in Health Tutorship OR a Degree Medical Education;
·        
The applicant must also be registered with the
Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council.
·        
Possession of a teaching and/or practical experience
in a Health Institution is an added advantage.
·

Good guidance and counseling skills
·        
Excellent communication skills
·        
Good evaluation skills
·        
Excellent interpersonal skills
·        
Good computer and IT skills
·        
Working knowledge of curriculum development
·        
Good research and report writing skills
·        
Working knowledge of safety and precautionary
measures.
