Central and Eastern Africa (OHCEA) is a University network of Schools of Public
Health and Schools of Veterinary that are located in seven countries namely;
Cameroon, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, and
Uganda with the regional secretariat located in Kampala Uganda, at the Makerere
University School of Public Health Annex in Kololo.
a five-year sub award for implementation of activities funded through
University of Minnesota from USAID for the implementation of the One Health
Workforce Project (OHW). This project will facilitate Government Led,
University Driven, Network Supported Coordination and collaboration across all
levels of the human and animal health sectors essential to meet the Global Health
Security Agenda (GHSA) vision for “a world safe and secure from global health
threats posed by infectious diseases.”
be responsible to Support and guide in the strategic planning for the development
and winning of new projects and grant funding opportunities for One Health
Central and Eastern Africa (OHCEA) Network. The incumbent will steer the
organization in partnership building and assist in the organizational
development to ensure smooth and efficient operations for attainment of quality
results.
Oversee the fundraising, writing of grants and
promoting OHCEA’s image globally as a network.
Become familiar with the academic and research
strengths of each of the OHCEA member institution.
Search for and provide information on grants and
other funding opportunities to OHCEA members’ network.
Identify, implement, and link OHCEA partnership
opportunities across ministries (sectors) and disciplines to OHCEA activities.
Work in liaison with the Chief Executive Director
and Regional Program Manager of OHCEA to leverage OHCEA regional and country
level programs and activities for additional funding or networking
opportunities.
Support the preparation of annual and operational
work plans as well as concepts and proposals
Actively participate in the development of Terms of
Reference, contracts or any other obligation instrument for country, regional
and organizational partners as well as consultants, as necessary.
Experience:
The Head – Grants & Resource Mobilization must
hold an MBA
Additional training in Project Management &
Administration
At least ten years’ professional experience program
management, with preference for experience in health sector
Significant experience working with multiple program
partners, including international NGOs, local NGOs, public, private and
academic sectors
Past experience working with young organizations at
top leadership level preferred
Significant experience within and across academic,
public and private sectors, especially in reference to capacity building is a
plus
Prior experience of mobilizing resources from
international donors / partners
Proof of grants writing and communication skills
Proof of grants successfully applied for

Uganda with frequent travels within the region.
